Who we are

This site is operated by Bindicator (a sole trader registered in Australia, ABN 21 137 549 103). We sell the Bindicator bin reminder lamp and ship globally from Sydney (Australia) and our UK fulfillment partner.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to take an order and get it to you.

• Order details: name, email, shipping address, the product you bought.
• Payment details: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we only receive a confirmation that payment succeeded.
• Email subscription: if you opt in, your email and name (optional).
• Reviews: if you leave one, your first name and review text.
• Approximate location: Cloudflare detects your country from your IP so we can show prices in AUD or GBP. We don't store this.
• Cookies / local storage: we cache your detected region (AU or GB) in your browser so the site loads correctly. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.

Why we collect it

• To process and ship your order.
• To send you order, shipping, and (after delivery) review-request emails.
• To send you marketing emails, but only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
• To meet our tax and legal record-keeping obligations.
• To respond to your questions when you contact us.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the third parties we need to run the business. We don't sell your information.

• Stripe (payments) — see stripe.com/privacy.
• Cloudflare (site hosting, region detection) — see cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Resend (transactional and marketing email delivery).
• Amazon (Multi-Channel Fulfillment) and Australia Post for AU orders.
• myWarehouse and Royal Mail (or other UK courier) for UK orders.
• CleanHub — we report aggregate order counts only (no personal data) to fund plastic waste recovery.

Each of these processors is bound by their own privacy obligations. We share only the minimum required (typically: name, address, email, order reference).

Where your data is stored

Order records are stored in Cloudflare D1 (a globally distributed database operated by Cloudflare). Email contacts are held by Resend. Stripe holds payment records on its own infrastructure.

If you're in the UK or EU, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in Australia and other countries where our service providers operate. Where this happens, we rely on contractual safeguards with each provider to keep your data protected.

How long we keep it

• Order records: at least 7 years, to meet Australian tax record-keeping requirements.
• Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
• Reviews: indefinitely (or until you ask us to remove yours).

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's wrong.
• Delete your data (where we're not required to keep it for tax or legal reasons).
• Stop sending you marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link or email us).

If you're in Australia and aren't happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. If you're in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Bindicator isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you're a parent and think your child has shared data with us, email us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes that affect how we use your data, we'll email subscribers and post a notice on the home page.
